Technical Software Project Manager

Job Role and Responsibilities

  • Lead the development team in designing, developing, testing, and implementing the fleet management system.
  • Break down complex technical requirements into clear and actionable tasks for developers.
  • Estimate project timelines and resources accurately.
  • Implement and manage development methodologies.
  • Manage and track project dependencies and risks proactively.
  • Conduct regular technical reviews and code walk-throughs.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and QA testers.
  • Maintain strong communication and transparency with all stakeholders.
  • Manage project budgets and resources efficiently.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest software development technologies and trends, particularly those relevant to fleet management and the Internet of Things (IoT).
  • Document technical specifications, designs, and architecture.
  • Oversee the integration and testing of various system components.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues and roadblocks.
  • Monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure the system complies with all relevant security and regulatory standards.
  • Report project status, schedules, timelines, issues and other aspects to Manager / General Manager.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 7-10 years of experience in software development project management.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex software projects.
  • Strong technical expertise in software development principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Expertise in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C++, JavaScript).
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL) and cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with a strong commitment to quality assurance.
  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies (e.g., MS Project, Jira).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Good command in English and computer literacy.
  • (Optional) Good command in Japanese language.
